Yes, of course it’s easy to use. And of course, it has look alike feature like Microsoft Word, well, with its way. Google always update Google Docs feature several times in a year. But some audience already stick to Microsoft Word to create and edit document, share it with email or upload in GDrive. Unfortunately, its popularity is not equal to Microsoft Word.

Then How about Microsoft Word

This is the fenomenal document creator around the world. Everyone knows it, using it, share it, everyday. New version, feature inovation, new design always implemented in Microsoft Word. I can’t imagine this world without Microsoft Word, maybe people will use paper more often.🙄

How to add comment in Microsoft Word

As written here, it’s simple too.

  1. Select the text you want to comment on, or click at the end of the text.
  2. On the Review tab, click New Comment.
  3. Type your comment. Word shows your comment in a balloon in the document’s margin.

To approve a comment, click comment box then click √ to approve comment.

To delete a comment, click the comment, choose resolve or delete comment.

To reply a comment, click the comment box and write your comment on reply field.

Well seems very clear. Simple and easy, right?

But

What if you have a Microsoft Word file with many comments, but you want to edit using Google Docs?

The Easiest Way is.. Don’ t do that.😁

Edit or delete or reply or resolve or approve all comment using Microsoft Word only.

If you upload the file in Gdrive and open it with Google Docs, you can edit or delete or reply or resolve or approve all comment, BUT if you download the file, open it again in Microsoft Word, the comment revision or all changes will dissappear, as if we do nothing on the file.

This has happened to me. I upload all Microsoft Word files to Gdocs, approve and delete all comments using Google Docs. Share ot to clients. But when client download those files, they open it using Microsoft Word, they still seeing all comments. As if I didn’t edit anything.😢😢

Conclusion

  1. It’s easy and simple to add comment both Microsoft Word and Google Docs.
  2. Don’t edit comment from Microsoft Word file using Google Docs.

Bonus

How to see all comments on a file?

Sometimes you only see a few comments on Microsoft Word file. But when you check that file on Google Docs, many comments that don’t appear on Microsoft Word, suddenly appeared.

How to handle this? Use Microsoft Word to open the file, then:

  1. Click menu Review, choose dropdown menu on Tracking, Choose Original Showing Markup.
  2. All comments will appeared

Don’t forget to save your file.

And that’s all! Please add your comment below, if you’re happy with this ‘tutorial’.
